MediaTek MT6592 Octa Core SoC is scheduled to be launched in December

Production of MediaTek MT6592 the Octa Core SoC by the Asia's leading Chipmaker has been started and it is expected to be launched in November by Taiwanese Media Sources


The news has been confirmed by the leaked internal documents which confirms the specifications of MT6592

  1. ARM Cortex A7 Octa Core Application Processor with Operating Frequency of 1.7-2.0Ghz which is  manufactured on 28nm Process
  2. 8 core worked at the same time
  3. Support Android 5.0 keylime
  4. Supports 1080p Video recording at 30fps
  5. Scored more than 30000 points on Antutu Benchmarks

Main advantage of MT6592 is that all the eight cores worked at same time and there low costs as compared to Qulacomm Chipsets.The same sources also said that Sample units released to OEM for testing purposes will be released by the end of July and the mass production will begin in November

Besides these MediaTek is also planning to launch Quad Core SoC MT6588 by the end of year

So by the year end we may see many chinese smartphone manufacturers would use MT6592 in their high end machines or it may even be possible international brands like Sony may use this chipset in their upcoming machines,as in the past they used their chipset in low end machines
